Jesus

I talk to Jesus throughout my day, not just in formal prayer times

I bring my actual worries and fears to him rather than managing them myself

I approach Scripture expecting to hear from a person, not just read a text

I believe that Jesus actually wants to communicate with me today

I set aside a few minutes of quiet today — not to talk, but to listen

When I read Scripture, I pause on what catches my attention and ask Jesus what he wants me to see

When I face a decision, I pause and ask what he would have me do before I act

I pay attention to the quiet promptings that come during the day and test them against Scripture

Even when I feel distant from him, I choose to believe he has not moved

I bring my doubt and confusion to him honestly rather than hiding it

I do not wait until I feel worthy to come to him — he is the reason I can come at all

I return to him after failure without long delay or excessive self-punishment

I tell him I am struggling even when I don't have the words for it

When I cannot hear him clearly, I stay in the last thing he said clearly and keep showing up
