Relationship
Self
How you relate to yourself shapes every other relationship. You cannot give what you have not received.
When the relationship is good
Attitudes
I receive God's forgiveness for past failures rather than carrying them
I see my gifts and abilities as given by God, not as my own achievement
Actions
I take care of my body and rest as acts of stewardship, not indulgence
I notice when I am running on empty and ask for help rather than pushing through alone
When the relationship is hard
Attitudes
I resist the inner voice that says I am beyond repair or too far gone
I do not compare my inner life to others' outer appearances
Actions
I speak to myself the way I would speak to a struggling friend — with honesty and kindness
I seek help — from God, a friend, or a counselor — rather than isolating with my pain
